On the way to Hutchinson, KS earlier this year, I noticed a sign on the western edge of Haven pointing out a golf course 1 mile south. Despite having played a fair amount of golf in the Hutch area, I'd never heard of the Haven Golf Course that was named on the sign. Upon returning home, Haven Golf Course didn't appear in Google, its Facebook page hadn't been updated since 2018, and I thought the odds of an active golf course still being there were slim. However, Google Earth showed mildly promising coverage of a golf course still alive and well. After a visit to Hutch this week, we took a detour south at Haven to see if Haven Golf Course was for real.
As the pictures would display, Haven Golf Course is absolutely for real. They even hosted a tournament the last weekend. Haven Golf Course is home to 9 holes with sand greens. Memberships are available or one can pay a $6 green fee. It's surrounded by dirt road, farms, a crop field, and trees. When the colors start changing over the next few weeks, it's sure to be beautiful with a colorful fall, Kansas sunset!
